The TOTT summer clinic started on Wed., July 6 & will go for 8 Wednesdays this summer (finishing on Aug. 31). The 20 participants are training in the Cawthra Pool gym in Port Credit, Ontario with Coach Jeff Stapleton.
The focii are on developing a safe, efficient & powerful style of mid-foot, barefoot running. Coach Stapleton’s squat-scoot style of forward/power running requires concentration on tight, light, compact & forward motion. The programme builds in drills for balance, centering, power endurance, foot cadence/turnover, core efficiency & muscle fire sequencing.
The end result will be safer, more efficient & powerful running. Coach Stapleton believes in the ‘less is more’ approach to barefoot running.
